CURRENT PERSPECTIVES ON SITTING: DEVELOPING A CULTURE OF MOVEMENT IN THE WORKPLACE
Become familiar with research and strategies to promote movement in the workplace.
By now you may have heard about the ‘perils of sitting’ or how ‘sitting is the new smoking.’ Recent research findings link sitting with chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and death risk. In this one hour course, become familiar with the academic research behind this popular topic – particularly the concept of "NEAT" – and learn design strategies for the built environment and office floor plan that promote a culture of movement in the workplace. This is an approved Continuing Education Unit (CEU) worth 0.1 credits, accredited through IDCEC.
